Abstract
The research seeks to know the impact of climate change and global warming on the growing strategic, economic and political importance of Greenland, and to identify the nature of its relations with the polar states, as well as the challenges affecting its international standing. To achieve these goals, the descriptive, historical, analytical, and future approaches were used. The research concluded that Greenland has an important geopolitical location in the Arctic, due to its large area, sea view, and possession of huge and rare mineral resources that foreign companies are racing to invest.
The research aims to learn about the island of Greenland and its importance in international competition in the Arctic. In light of this main goal, we will try to achieve several sub-goals, which are:
Climate changes have caused the transformation of the Antarctic continent, which had remained safe for many years, into a conflict zone between the polar countries. Greenland is one of the islands in which interest has increased by major countries. Through this, we are trying to answer a number of questions, the most important of which are what are the reasons that contributed to the growing importance of the island of Greenland. In international competition? What roles do the Russian Federation and the United States of America play inside Greenland in the international conflict?
