Abstract
The system of expenses acquires great importance, stemming from the fact that it represents a fundamental basis in the formation of strong families and cohesive families, whose members support each other voluntarily and innately in good times and bad through what this system includes.
Islam made these families composed of branches, ascendants, parents’ branches, and ancestral branches, and called them “parents.” It derives from the parents good upbringing, the inheritance of morals, the cohesion of individuals, the correction of wrong behaviors, the exchange of duties, and other matters that preserve the society’s purity, the group’s security, and life’s splendor and stability.
Due to the importance of the kinship system, as it is sufficient to strengthen ties of kinship and benevolence to relatives and to establish that in souls, because maintenance is a legitimate and legal duty, it is the situation that prompts a person to support someone who is legally or legally obligated to support him, and it includes food, clothing, and housing. We discussed this topic, focusing on the legal aspect of it, in addition to The jurisprudential aspect: We have determined who are the relatives entitled to alimony, what is the wisdom behind its legitimacy, and the conditions for entitlement to it.
